COVID-19 Lockdown

What is a lockdown?

A lockdown is an emergency protocol that requires South Africans to stay at home except for essential purposes. All non-essential activities are suspended. The full national lockdown will begin at midnight on Thursday 26 March and will continue for 21 days.

Church services

Remember: Church is not a building, it’s a people. The building will be closed, but the Church will be open.

We will not be meeting on Sundays, but we will be live streaming our services on the website.  www.openbaptistchurch.co.za/live. There will also be a chat platform for everyone to interact, ask questions, share prayer requests, etc.

For those who cannot join us for the live streaming, the sermon  will also be recorded for later viewing and uploaded to our Youtube channel.

We will also make an audio file   available for those who   choose to listen only.

Sermon notes   will also be made available on request.

Bible studies

On Wednesday evenings @19:00, there will be a Bible Study Webinar. Both meetings will be on the same topic. This will be done via ZOOM MEETINGS.

Caring

The physical and spiritual health of our church family are our priority. It is important to maintain connection and community as a church during this period of crisis and so we will be using all means possible to care for the needs of our people.

We ask you to join the church leadership as we pray for our country during this time of crisis. Please keep in touch with one another as OBC family and make sure we have all your details so that no one is left out.
